Website redesign and migration

A better website. A considered changeover.

Improve the experience while giving the migration the attention it needs.

Replacing a veterinary website involves more than designing new pages. We plan the content, useful URLs, booking routes, enquiry forms and launch checks together, so the change supports both clients and the practice team.

Designed around your practice

Give every part a clear purpose.

Keep what is useful

Review existing content and important URLs before deciding what changes.

Improve the client journey

Clearer information and practical registration, booking and contact routes.

Launch with a plan

Defined responsibilities, checks and a route for fixing issues after changeover.

The practice challenge

The design and the changeover belong in the same brief.

Useful pages disappear during the rebuild.

An existing website may contain service information, articles or location pages that still matter. We inventory the content and agree what to retain, improve, merge or retire.

Old links lead nowhere.

Search results, emails and external websites can point to existing URLs. We plan the agreed URL mapping and redirects rather than treating them as an afterthought.

The visible pages work, but the everyday routes do not.

Booking links, forms, telephone actions and system integrations need their own checks. We define those routes early and test the agreed journeys before launch.

A connected approach

Start with the website people already use.

We review the current site, the practice priorities and the tasks clients need to complete. Where access is available and agreed, existing search and analytics information can help identify pages and journeys worth closer attention.

The new structure follows those tasks. We bring the copy, responsive design and migration plan together, then agree who approves clinical information, supplies assets, configures third-party systems and signs off the launch.

What you can commission

The work behind a considered changeover.

The scope is tailored to your current site, editing needs and integrations. A redesign and migration project can include:

01

Content and URL inventory

An agreed record of the pages, documents and key routes that need a decision.

02

Page structure and copy

A clear information architecture, useful service content and priorities for improving existing pages.

03

Responsive website design

Desktop and mobile layouts that make contact, booking and registration routes easy to find.

04

Redirect and integration planning

A mapping of agreed old and new URLs, plus checks of the routes supported by your booking or registration providers.

05

Pre-launch checks

Review of forms, contact details, internal links, canonical URLs, sitemap entries and the agreed device journeys.

06

Handover and follow-up

A clear editing process, ownership and access responsibilities, plus the checks and support included after launch.

How the work connects

A clear route from the old site to the new one.

01

Review and map

Agree the content decisions, useful URLs and system dependencies before development.

02

Build and check

Review the design, content and important client journeys together.

03

Launch and review

Apply the agreed changeover plan, confirm the key routes and address the issues included in scope.

Your questions

Before you brief the work.

Can you preserve our current search visibility?

We plan the migration to account for useful content, existing URLs and technical search foundations. Search rankings can still change after a rebuild; no migration can guarantee unchanged positions or traffic.

Can we keep our domain name?

Usually a redesign can retain the existing domain. We review ownership, access and any intended domain or hosting change as part of planning, and identify the responsibilities in the proposal.

What happens to our existing articles?

We review the archive and agree which content to retain, update or consolidate. Article URLs, images, dates and any redirects are included in the content decisions rather than copied without review.

Can you work with our booking provider?

We check the integration options your provider supports. Your proposal states what is included, what access is needed and which tasks remain with the practice or provider.

How is the launch date agreed?

The programme depends on scope, content readiness, approvals and system access. We agree the milestones and launch responsibilities for the actual project instead of promising a fixed timeframe before reviewing it.
